Cutters are great tools for making your cakes look professional! We have letter cutters as well as an extensive range of plunger cutters for flowers, leaves, butterflies and the very popular snowflake. The character cutters are also a big time saver for silhouette shapes & you can also paint on detail once dried a bit.

We have a range of solid NZ made cake tins as well as Wilton moulded pans. We also stock biscuit cutters and baking accessories.

We have a great selection of Wilton piping tips / nozzles including the popular 1M & 2D as well as piping bags- both disposable and multi use.

    Don't have the time or inclination for baking but love to decorate cakes? We can bake the cake for you from one of our popular flavours so you can concentrate on the decorating!We've been baking our madeira range of cakes for at least the last 25 years & they are our most often ordered cakes in store. Madeira cakes are a light butter cake which are a bit heavier than a sponge & are great for fondant or soft icings. Our standard cakes are around 6-7cm deep (novelties are less) & just need to be trimmed & turned over for a nice even base for your icing. Size stated is the tin size, the actual cake comes out slightly smaller, generally the icing will bring it out to size. Please order a week in advance or check out our freezer cakes :-)Flavours-Madeira - a nice buttery mild vanilla flavour (a staff favourite)Chocolate- our most popular flavour pretty much every week.Marble- a marbled mixture of chocolate, madeira & raspberry, nice & bright for kids' cakes.Lemon- a nice light summery flavour.Orange- a light orange flavour.Jaffa- marbled orange & chocolate. These cakes have a shelf life of around a week & can be picked up any time from Wednesday to Saturday. If you need a cake before then, they freeze really well so they can be picked up the week before, popped in the freezer & removed a few hours before you plan to decorate. Depending on the size of the cake & season they would generally take about 3-5 hours to thaw. We offer round or square cakes in any of the sizes below as well as the oblongs & novelty shaped cakes. Please let us know if you need a different shape & we may be able to help.

Our Chefmaster gel colours are what we use most often for our cakes, the colours are much stronger than supermarket liquid colours- the red is actually red! They can be used to colour fondant, gum paste, royal icing, buttercream & even your cake batter. Gel colours aren't really suitable for colouring chocolate as their water content can make chocolate seize up if you add too much. Colour Mill is an oil based colour which works great with chocolate- and other kinds of icing. Powder colours can also be used with chocolate & other icings. If you're using buttercream icing & your colours aren't looking as strong as you would like there are a couple of things you can do- add more icing sugar, as this is what brings out the colour- it doesn't adhere as well to the fats (butter/snocreme), you may also need to add more milk if the icing sugar makes it a bit stiff. Another option to bring colour out is to put the icing in the fridge till it hardens, then microwave it 10 seconds at a time whilst mixing in between till it's the correct consistency- the slight heat will bring out the colour.

Silicone moulds have become very popular over the last few years with a great range of shapes available. We have moulds for using with gumpaste, both wet & dry lace (see our lace mat collection) as well as NZ made plastic chocolate moulds which can also be used for fondant & gumpaste.
